10/01/2024 It's been crazy! The last few years have been a dream at the shop, there is NEVER a day that isn't filled to the brim with work. I am so blessed. I have worked here for over 30 years, and I still look forward to going to work every day. Our business has flourished, there was a time when we had many more employees and many more open hours but over the years, I have cut way back on both and at the same time greatly increasing business/workload. I have just learned that one of my part time employees (and sister) Jodi is retiring. Therefore, I have decided to cut back on my "OPEN" hours. This way I can still be in the shop working on Framing orders while the Retail shop is closed. It also allows me a rest when needed, I just turned 60 and it seems I need a little bit more rest these days anyways, so I think I will enjoy the new Schedule.
Thanks for sticking with me, I greatly appreciate your business!! Erin
06/21/21 Hanging in there!
We have had an eventful month at the gallery. It all started when I fell and broke my foot and being mostly a one woman show with a part time employee (my sister) it really has thrown a wrench in things. We had to close up shop for several days but the good news is I am back on my feet and back to work.
The other change is, because of Covid we are down two employees. We have adapted, gotten used to it and plan to keep it that way. It's allot more work for my sister and I but so far so good. I have considered hiring more staff but I will admit the training process for custom framing is very time consuming and I'm just too busy - kind of creates a conundrum.. It may be something I reconsider in the future. We are doing fine handling the work load, I live very close and come in after hours often, which I'll admit I rather enjoy.
I have decided to change the hours to accommodate the summer flow and to give me more time in the work room without interruption. We decided to be closed on Monday as it's our slowest day of the week and many other stores on our block are also closed that day. It's an experiment, if I find people are missing our Monday hours I will change it up in the fall. Business is great - and my loyal customers continue to bring me their wonderful art for framing - every job is different so I am constantly challenged by unique projects, I love that part of my job.
As soon as I am fully recovered I plan to switch out the store with new art and gifts - we'll keep you posted.
We are blessed and so appreciative of the business you all bring us - Happy Summer!
Sincerely, Erin White, Owner
10/20/20 It's Business As Usual!
We are busier then ever at the Gallery. Before the struggles with Covid began I had four employees - Because of it we have cut back and now I have one. It's working out well and we are keeping up. I used to have more time off but I find I'm happier when here and when I am not here all I am doing is thinking about what I need to do here! It's the joy of being a small business owner, and I wouldn't change a thing.
My customers haven't given me a day off, even during quarantine - I am so Thankful, because of you we have made it through and the Gallery/Frame shop is having it's best year ever!
If you are concerned about coming in during business hours - I am available for appointments or pick ups and drop offs. Just give the store a call and leave your name and a message or fill out the contact form here, I will work with you in what ever way you are most comfortable.
Here's to finishing off 2020! Sincerely, Erin White
